The last couple of weeks a huge cat has been hanging around the house trying to get in whenever the door is open. A few days ago it attacked my youngest cat Kiya and scratched her nose, I have caught it chasing her a few times since then and today it has attacked both my other cats too.

It has a very loose collar on and it seems well looked after but since it tries to get into any house it can I haven't been able to find the one it lives in. We have tried chasing it off with loud noises but it never goes far, it always seems to be around.

Is there any advice anyone can give me for dealing with this I don't want to have to keep my cats in because of a bully. Thank you

If the intruder as you say looks well cared for, it probably lives nearby. Or it could also have been recently abandoned or is lost. Have you asked your neighbors about him? My cats also go outside and have encountered a bully or two. It takes time. Keep on chasing it away with loud noises. They get it after a while.

I've asked the neighbors about it no one has any idea where she has come from just that she has been around for a while and she's normally on the road behind us. I'm mostly worried about Kiya she never defends herself and she never seems bothered by anything but I can tell this cat is scaring her, she used to bolt out the door off exploring now she checks every direction and goes out very cautiously and is back in every 5 minutes. Poor kitty :(

I feel sorry for the big stray cat, I think is lost or abandoned. He or She is trying to get into any house because he's looking for his own home, he must feel scared and hungry.

Long ago I had the same situation with a big stray getting into fights with my own tomcat, since they were both males they fight and so. We often feed the stray cat because we felt sorry for him and my boy got very jealous but after a while they learned to get along and they started to avoid each others.

It's collar disappears and re appears so it has a home somewhere, I've rehoused strays that have shown up before, this cat is well taken care of just trying its luck, mine do the same when next door is open. A stray looking for food I don't mind, this is a bully attacking my cats because they are there.

If you can get close to it id suggest getting a tag and putting it on the cats collar with your contact info "owner of cat please call..." and once you find the owner let them know whats going on

the owners will probably just laugh  people do not seem to take cats attacking other cats serious like a dog attacking another dog, u can use a water gun should work, if your cats are adults with claws they should be okay.
