mommy cat keeps looking for her kitten but it died

Unfortunately this morning my cats only kitten died, I tried everything to try and help it but nothing worked it refused to eat :'( I felt horrible and impotent watching it fade away...the mommy though keeps calling out to it and keeps looking for it and it breaks my heart, any suggestions to help her through this please??

I would contact local shelters and rescues and see if they have any orphaned kittens that need a momma cat. It will likely be good for both your cat and the kittens. *Most* momma cats will accept new kittens, though some are uninterested.

If she were my cat, this is the route I would take.

I also worry because she used to love to sleep or just cuddle on my chest but she just lays next to me now :/

Check your local shelter for nursing age orphans. If your mama still has milk, they might form a mutually beneficial relationship. :-)
