Hey guys did some google searching so I'm guessing Ill get the same answer here but wanted to find out.  We just bought two new toys today and our kitten cat Aslan took to them immediately but began growing and hissing at our other kitten Rafter.  Rafter seemed scared and put off but what is interesting is Rafter is the Alpha of the two.  In fact, we met the foster parent from the shelter where we got them and apparently Rafter was the alpha out of 8 male kittens.  It was Rafter's reaction if anything that concerned me because he seemed scared of Aslan.  I was able to take the toy away eventually and Aslan didn't hiss or attack me at all.  I'm just concerned about the two of them.

It was the kittens way of saying "It's MINE!  You can't have it!  Keep away!"  Generally its nothing to worry about.  Just when you introduce new toys, it may be a good idea to get 2 of each and separate them when giving the toy.  That way, no problems arise.

To keep the relationship balanced, whenever there's aggression, separate the two (don't punish) just quietly separate them for a few minutes until it passes.

Thanks for the reply. What is interesting is Aslan is usually the laid back one except with this toy. It was the alpha that acted scared and confused when Aslan began growling.
