What's your fast food dirty little secret?

My son and I went to this cool store today where you can get unusual dry goods; nuts, flours, dried fruits, etc.  I've been meaning to go.  When we walked out my nose reminded me that there is a Hardees kitty corner with the store...  I was almost tempted to stop.  Traffic kept that thought at bay. 

Steak n Shake for burgers, Popeye's for chicken. They also have the greatest sweet tea ever. 

I try not to get fast food very often, but when I occasionally do, because I don't eat beef or pork, It's usually a chick-fillet sandwich, or Hardee's makes a good turkey burger.

I also crave the Zaxby's salads w/ chicken, & their onion rings are to die for!!

I tried Steak n Shake for the first time just a few weeks ago and am now an addict.  One time, and I'm addicted!  Steak n Shake is never far from my thoughts.  They should build one in our town.  I love, love, love Krystal hamburgers but we don't have chain in NC, at least not that I am aware of.  I crossed a four lane by myself in the night to get to a Krystal near my hotel in Jacksonville, Florida.  I used to live in Georgia, you see, and never took Krystal for granted.  It was always a treat.  Now it's an almost unattainable luxury, since the nearest one is so far away.

I can drive past Krystal no problem, but it's hard for me to drive past a Steak n Shake.  Their chili is awesome!  Their strawberry shortcake is made with a buttermilk biscuit and is off the chain.

Have you tried the garlic double steakburger at Steak n Shake yet? oh it is good. I tried the patty melt Friday night and that was awesome, too. I love their fries. better than McDonald's. Smaller and crispier.   

I like their onion rings too.  I prefer real onion rings to fries and very few fast food places have them.

What do they put in their food? I gained 8 lbs. one summer, eating at McDonald's once a week for 8 weeks, which means I gained a pound each time I ate there! Once I stopped, it took me 6 months to lose the 8 lbs., just eating normal healthy food again minus McDonald's.

I thought the burger was just a sandwich, I'd get just one patty with lettuce, mayo, and tomato. I also ordered a Blizzard a couple of times, but didn't really like it, it's not cream. NO fries or pop / soda or anything else - all I had was just 8 dumb sandwiches and 2 ice creams.

I was doing a lot of physical work that summer, too, which is why we ate out lunch once a week. I switched a bedroom to another room, and switched closets, too, it was a lot of work. I haven't eaten a bite of McDonalds since that summer.

p.s. I sure wish we had Taco Cabana here!!!

Our sonic shut down a few years ago but it's still there taunting me.

I've been trying not to eat fast food but it's hard with my hours. 6-6 and switches from nights and days every week. Day shift by the time I get home I don't want to eat I just sleep. So I skip dinner or have cereal.
So skipping food is my biggest issue. THEN eating crap afterwards.

Thankfully when I'm off I don't feel like getting out of bed before 10 so no Taco Bell breakfast for me!

All but 1 of the Sonics in my area are closed now.  The only thing I miss is the slushies!  I used to enjoy the burgers and shakes; but they stopped sitting so well with me.  I suppose that's not a bad thing in the end. 

They are building a Chick-fil-a closer to us now.  That will be hard because my kids like it there as much as I do.  And I don't take them to other fast food places very often; just the occasional quesadilla from taco bell.

I want to try the cheese bread hot dogs. The commercials taunt me

There are still a bunch of Sonics all over Florida but I agree with you. The slushies are really good. The food is meh. I pass by a Sonic on my way home from work and in the going on 7 years I have been working there I have stopped in there exactly zero times. If I was with someone who was already going there, I'd get a slushie but would not go out of my way at all for one. 

Bic Macs. With McDonald's fries. Oh yes.

Especially when I have a migraine.  Something about all that grease, salt and fat really helps.  I have no idea why.

It's interesting to read some of your favorites. Quite a few of these chains we don't have around here.

I finally tried one of those a couple of months ago, along w/ the smart fries & it was really good!

I sometimes buy a box of lucky charms.. and wind up eating just the marshmallows. It's fun to pick through the box for them!

That reminds me of their TV commercial.  A woman is going through the box and their aren't any marshmallows.  A man walks in with a bowl of just the marshmallows.

Yesterday my son was still asking for food after finishing his normal waffle & fruit breakfast so DH gave him a handful of "Saturday cereal" aka Lucky Charms.  He ate the marshmallows and tossed the rest on the floor.

My daughter doesn't like the marshmallows in Lucky Charms. I end up eating them and she eats the cereal part.
