Hey everyone.

I recently got a new kitten, Felicity, to join my feline family. She is 10 weeks old and very playful and loving, with a healthy appetite. However I have noticed that one of her pupils is always more dilated than the other (though it does occasionally shrink a little), and that the larger pupil also glows much brighter in photos. It does seem that the eye is less responsive, when I wriggle a finger near it she does not show much reaction, though she does turn to it eventually.

Is this likely to be due to limited vision in this eye, or down to another cause? She is seeing the vet next week for her injections, do you think it will be ok to wait until then to get it checked out, or that it should be checked sooner?

Thanks for the help :-)

Honestly, since she is playing and eating well, I would say  it could wait until you see the Vet next week, but if there is any change in her habits, or if you notice any tearing or gunk in her eye, I would take her in early.  I read up on it, and found that some cats just naturally have one pupil that is larger than the other, but if you have any doubts at all, call you Vet, and, of course, bring it up to them during your visit next week.

Oh, BTW....welcome to TCS!
And congratulations on your new kitty
