I have a 16 year old diabetic cat with feline Aids.  I know it's surprising, but he is usually very healthy.  Bright eyes, gorgeous coat, eats well, plays, etc.  Yesterday he was fine - ate as normal, played with my other cat, no worries.  When I got up this morning, there was cat vomit on my floor, looked like soft cat food.  Not five minutes later I saw my cat throwing up clear liquid.  He did this three times in the next thirty minutes.  He also refused to eat so I didn't give him his insulin shot.  I came home around noon to check on him.  He was hiding under my bed (which he usually only does when there are strangers in the house) and covered in vomit and blood.  There aren't any open wounds so I'm guessing he threw it up.  I cleaned him up and gave him some food.  He started eating it so I gave him a half dose of his insulin.  My vet's office was closed for lunch and I had to get back to work so I left for a couple hours.  I called my vet, and he is out until tomorrow morning so the office said to keep an eye on him tonight.  When I returned home, he had thrown up what little he had eaten, but there wasn't any blood in it.  I came back to work, and my husband called a couple hours later and said there was a little blood in some new vomit.  So long story short, is there anything I can do for him until tomorrow morning when my vet's office opens?  He's not eating or drinking and is just laying around.  I can't give him an insulin shot until he eats so that is a concern as well.

As added background, my other cat, who is 2 and also has feline aids, has been sick with nasty diarrhea and losing weight.  Not hardly eating, but no vomit.  He had several tests which all came back with normal levels.  We tried a steroid and two antibiotics.  He's still on the steroid and super expensive food with an added powder with pancreatic enzymes.  He will nibble on it and has gained 3 ounces. He still has loose stools but not like they were.  I don't know if that could be related or not.

Thanks to any suggestions anyone may have!

Sorry no one responded to this sooner!!

I hope that he has seen a vet and that you will  update us about what was said.  He should definitely see a vet ASAP.

Good luck and
 for your kitty.
