Today was quite amusing to me.  I bought a cheap cardboard scratcher for Noodles to try since she's been using one of my kids canvas toy bins.  It came with lose catnip and has been a hit!  It's too lightweight; so they keep flipping it and there is catnip all over.  But hey....happy kitties!

Noodles is my grumpy cat when it comes to most people.  My oldest child is 4 1/2 now and it's been quite the adjustment for our formerly very quiet and low key house.  We've been working on getting Noodles to like the kids more.  Now that DD is getting older she helps feed the girls, gives treats and tries to play with them.

Well today; after that nip session, I was laying down on DD's bed with her while she settled for some quiet time.  The next thing we know; up jumps Noodles!  Not only did she jump up; she laid on DD's legs!  Her lower legs; but still!!!  DD did great sitting very still.  She waited a few minutes to gently bring her fingers down for Noodles to smell.  Noodles got "the look" but she didn't run!  I was petting her so I know that helped.  But wow!  So proud of both of them!

And now Mooch is sitting completely on top of the scratcher so Noodles is after the toy bin again.

I think we will be getting another; but something more sturdy.  That catnip is making a serious mess still!  And I didn't think I put that much on it!

Congrat's on the DD / Noodles bonding progress!
Always cute seeing kitties and kids calm together.

What you do with Mooch and the scratcher I don't know...  at least 2 of everything I guess.

Noodles joined DD and I on her bed again tonight.  Only for a minute but still!

I have been running a feliway difuser in the main area of the house for a few weeks now.  That may be helping things along too.  But DD's bedroom is at the opposite side of the house so I wouldn't think it would do much back there.  I'm just glad to see some sort of progress between the 2 of them.  DD likes to pet my mother's cats and alternates between asking for a kitten and a baby (as in a sibling).  So funny!   (She's getting neither.  At least not on purpose!)

LoL, perhaps Noodles has been over hearing the conversations about siblings and kittens and decided that moving in as DDs new best friend is the best chance of putting pay to such developments!

DD might just have reached an "acceptable age" for Noodles. Jamie was horrible with our nephew until his voice broke. :lol3:

Could be!  We have a 3 bedroom house; so all the bedrooms are occupied now.  DD says the new baby (that she's not getting) can sleep in HER bed!  Yeah right!

Noodles better keep trying to charm DD!

Mooch is sleeping with her head on that scratcher right now.  It's starting to look worn; so I know it's getting use!  Beyond as a pillow!
