The KIDS got fixed today.  I asked for pain meds.  When I did, was I asking for the actual surgery or for after or?   They were so taken with the 50 (ok...it was closer to 25, from 3 or 4 mom's) puppies brought in, I could not ask any questions.

I only did because I was not sure if it was for during or after.

I did get them chipped.  Again, the gal told me I could not bring them back later...  it had to be done today. Which considering Ana has been trying to get out.  Not sure if she is going into heat or ?  Their paperwork said if the animal is in heat or pregnant, they would not do surgery.  I am not sure if it was just for today...  doing so many spays or ?

I wanted to ask if I could bring them in at a later time for the chip and she said it had to be now.  After reading their papers... it said you could bring them in at any time.  I wish the staff was more informed and more attentive to all patients.  Not just cute puppies.

***Any after care advice you can give me, in case they are taken back by puppies or whatever.  I am a bit disappointed by the lack of attention, when I had questions.   I felt rushed, because the office staff wanted to look and talk about puppies.

The free clinic cost me $250.  :/

OK... they got a pain shot that should last 3 days. I hope it is long enough! No pain pills.

`WOW!! Ana is less than 1/4 of a pound from Mew (who is 2 months older give or take a couple/few weeks). Both are over 5 pounds.  Elsa, Ana's sister, is almost a pound less, barely hitting 4 pounds. but a lot more fur.

Walter, who they put 4 weeks younger than all THREE girls (he is at least 8 weeks younger than Elsa and Ana, so at LEAST 10-13 WEEKS younger than Mew) is 3.08 pounds.
I wonder if he is under 3 pounds but not by much. Reason being, he had to be 3 months AND 3 pounds is what was re-iterated to me when we brought them in. . He isn't 3 months yet. I know that for *sure*.  If the gal who found him was right on the 3 weeks, and going from when we got him, he would be 9-9 weeks old now.
I did ask the vet to look at Walter's eye. One still has tears or a bit of goop. Reminds me of sleep.  I told him I do clean it twice daily. Nothing on the paperwork about it. I am not sure if he forgot or if it is fine or ?

Mew seems to be the unhappiest. :/  Darren, being the good "daddy" he is, is going to sleep in the kid's room and watch the kittens, and I assume the human kids will sleep with me tonight, so he can watch them.

All 4 are chipped :) so hopefully none will get out, but if they do... they are chipped to easily find.  I am scanning in their paperwork, JIC. I know me and my memory :( and I feel better, scanning it in.

As babies.....

The cats doing well. Ana has a little leakage. I am not sure if it warrants taking her in. We are day 2 of 2 weeks.
Pain meds seem to be working. An injection. One more day and it will be worn off. I hope they feel ok.

Walter seems to be the most energetic. Mew the least. Ana, Walter and Elsie all seem really over affectionate. Not sure if it is the surgery or the pain meds or what. Mew is still sulky.

I don't know the history of these little ones or any of what's going on, but $250 seems an awful lot for a FREE clinic

I would expect "the boys" to have it easier than "the girls" on recovery time, pain expectations, etc., but not knowing which type of spay/neutering they are doing these days on females, 3 days worth of pain meds may be enough.  I'm guessing it is or they would have given you additional pills to have on hand

Maybe you could call about the slight leakage with Ana?

I had to pay for the chip and we had to pay for the shot of pain meds. :/ times both by 4. Each was $28.00 so times by 8 plus tax.
