We just got our kitty her PCRC booster shot for respiratory illnesses. And she was fine last night (ate twice) but today she sleeps and sleeps. She has no interest in food, water or play.

The first year she got her first kitten vaccinations and 1 year rabies. She was the same way--I understand that because it's the first and multiple shots. Last year we got her her booster and 3 year rabies. My husband tells me same thing happened last year. We'll I thought ok, 2 shots. Now this year, she just had her PCRC booster. Came home ate twice. This morning no eating, no drinking, no playing. She just lays around and sleeps. She did use her litter box and looked out a window for a little bit but now she's back to sleeping.

So other than required rabies I'm done with boosters. She's our only cat and is an indoor kitty only.

I just hope she bounces back to her self eating, playing and being her stinker 2 1/2 year old self.

The new thinking is that cats do not need annual boosters unless they are going out or you  are a rescuer bringing all sorts of things into the environment.  She is obviously sensitive to the vaccine -- if she doesn't perk up shortly, call your vet back and tell him/her about it, and that it happened last year as well.

Totally agree! If she doesn't perk up within a few days, call the vet so they can add it to her file for record, and they may want to see her.

My cat had a reaction to her booster as well! That'll be her last shot as she is also an indoor cat (leash walks only).

Sending good vibes to her so she can bounce back to her usual self!
