My cat is about a year old and ever since he was born weve noticed chargers getting eaten. Not just once but 23 times now. We have tried the whole put something spicy on the cord but he actually loves spicy food. We finally confirmed it was him after leaving each cat alone with a charger and he ate it. Ive tried squirt bottles, hot sauce, perfume, spanking even the basic when I catch him doing it spanking him as Im showing him the charger, nothing works. Putting the charger up isnt an option because my phone has to stay on it almost 80% of the time, there arent any outlets and everytime I try to lock him out of the bedroom, my husband forgets to shut the door. Any suggestions that may help?

I would try double sided sticky tape - wrap it around the cord, and the stickiness should prevent him from wanting to continually eat the cord.

It might be worth it, but what about installing an outlet higher up, or in a closed cupboard/closet so he can't get it?

My cats are the same way with ear buds (you might want to safeguard them too!).  If putting the charger up isn't an option, can you fashion something - some sort of box or barrier - that can close your phone and charger off, blocking your kitty from reaching it?

I suggest getting thingCharger for yourself and your husband.

Good luck!

I have had the same issue. This is what worked for me I bought tubing to put around the charger

My cats do not even try to chew in his. Even if yours does he will have a hard time getting to the actual cord. You can also try and put bitter apple on it. But you will have to remember to reapply
