It pains me to say this, but I love and adore and care about my 2 fur babies very much with all my heart, but they are stressing me out. *sigh* I don't even like saying these words, but it's true.  I love them both dearly, Marble, an adorable beautiful dark gray Tabby with a chocolate nose and his adorable sweet <3 beautiful sisfur, Cali, a yellow, orange, black, and white Calico, and oddly enough, though maybe not so odd, I don't know, she has the sweetest face and her meow is so sweet and dear, as is her beautiful soothing purr, but omg, she is the most aggressive girl cat I've ever known and I've had many cat friends since childhood. I've always been a loving magnet for all animals, especially cats.  They love me.  I'm the biggest animal lover I know and I love, care for, and adore all animals.  Sorry, getting off track a little here...I'm sleep-deprived so I'm a little foggy and loopy.  Trying to keep this simple and to the point...I don't know which elements play a role in her behavior, but I will mention everything that may be relevant.  Cali is spayed, she was spayed as a 1 year old kitten and her brofur, Marble, was neutered as a 1 year old kitten.  My dear husband and I raised these 2 precious babies from the day their beautiful sweet Mother gave birth to them 9+ years ago and I was her midwife...I'm feeling very painful grief because we fell in love with her after we rescued her from a negligent home full of aggressive dogs and she fell in love with us and adopted us.  Sadly, she died 2 years later after she gave birth, which crushed us and broke our hearts.

Fast forward, she has terrible habits that are driving us crazy.  She has a scratcher, but she claws the walls to get our attention and she paws and attacks papers on the floor very noisy to wake me up and drag me out of bed just before dawn to feed her.  A sweet cat rescue person told me she wears ear plugs and closes her bedroom door, but unfortunately that won't work in my situation because we have a 2 year old toddler who is already having sleeping difficulties from his painful teething and he needs all the sleep he can get and I can't afford for Cali to wake him up with her loud abrupt clawing the walls.  I'm going to order 2 purrfect arches because they seem to help several problems, including matted fur, and I'm hoping they will help, but aside from an auto-feeder that pours out a tiny bit of water, I don't know what else to do here.  She likes a little bit of water added to her dry food and I tried wet food, but it didn't hold up very well and now that's hot summer, all the ants come out and it doesn't work very well.   I'm going to order some cat claw caps and I was thinking of having her claws filed a little bit at the vet and putting sticky paws in various places...and that will protect our home, but it won't solve the problem with her waking me up and driving me crazy.  She has a very good cat scratcher that her brofur uses all the time and I don't know if she doesn't like it or forgets it's there or if I'm missing something...but I don't know what else to do here.  We put aluminum foil on the wooden walls here months ago and that helped a little...but not much.  We are currently renting, so, we need to do our best to keep this place intact when it comes time to move and even when we move to a more permanent place that our family will own, we still need to protect the place and not let her tear it apart.  Please help, thank you for listening.

l can feel your frustration, but it can likely be solved

Firstly, it sounds like you only have one scratcher. This would be the first thing l would fix. l have three cats and 6 scratchers. Four of them are vertical (they all prefer the verticals), one horizontal, and one at an angle. Some cats won't use one or the other, and it sounds like your cat wants a stiff vertical surface to claw, so l would get her one and put it right where she currently claws the wall.
