Vincent (as you might be able to tell from the pictures) is not necessarily a "flat-faced" cat. However he snores and grunts pretty often. I feel like that it's more characteristic of exotic short hairs, persians, etc. to make wheezy little sounds too. The sound isn't deep or rattly, but kind of like a soft, nasal humming. He makes these sounds awake and asleep (especially when he's on his back like in the picture) but it's much more intense and common while he is asleep.
The vet listened to his heart when I first found him and I didn't really know about his snoring. It's cute but I was always afraid that it might be difficulty breathing. The vet never said he noticed anything rattling around in his lungs so I don't think it's asthma. Is it possible he just has allergies to something? Maybe he just has a flap in in nasal cavity?
