My older (16) cat in the past couple of weeks has started pooping in my bed. He had been experiencing some issues with diarrhea, and had gone on our bed before- when we went out of town for a night. It started up again when I started my new job. So it's definitely stress related, but now it has progress to him doing it at night. We have started closing the door during the day to limit his access, but don't want to have to close our bedroom off at all hours of the day and night- 1) there would be no air circulation and 2) we have 2 other cats that enjoy sleeping with us. He is currently on a steroid to help with the diarrhea and I can tell his poops are getting more firm, but the going in bed isn't stopping. I have tried spraying a citrus essential oil on the bed and surrounding area- that did absolutely nothing. and I have intensely cleaned everything. We keep the cat boxes clean, we have 3- one for each cat and clean them twice daily. Please help!
