Hello everyone from me and my new kitten coby [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I bought a kitten from a well known page in my area. My kitten arrived I was told he was 9 weeks old. Basically, I've never had a cat before so I'm learning alongside him.

When he arrived, the owner wasn't helpful at all. Handed him over without even bothering to check our home was ok for him, didn't ask us anything, took the money and left. Gave no advice on what he ate etc. He was tiny and so thin. He went too the litter tray, he's done the lol a couple of times in the house tho urine and poop. We scoop his litter tray once he has done the loo, buried it and starts playing again, so he doesn't see me scooping. My husband has been a bit of a nightmare tho, twice I've caught him going near him in the litter tray and I might be over protective but I tell my husband to leave him alone. He's actually been taking the kittens poop out of the tray while the kittens still near the tray, so twice today I've noticed he's pooped right outside the litter tray next to it. I'm beginning to think he's doing it cause of my husband so I've had serious words with him.

I had to change his litter today because I took him to the vet for first jags, check up, get him registered etc. Twice my kitten has had litter stuck up inside his bottom. I had to remove it myself once and the vet had to use tweezers to remove it today as it had worked its way inside his bum. So again, I'm unsure if this is why he is pooing outside it cause he's relating it to pain or something? Even tho he never seemed bothered by it until it was removed, which any human would be bothered by too. Bless him!

Does anyone have any tips to stop him pooping outside the tray? I changed his litter to wood pellets recommended by the vet.
My vet said he's very underweight, he's so timid and I think he was mistreated he is a shorthair but looks long haired but I think it's cause he is scraggy looking because of his previous owners. He is VERY small for 9 weeks too.

Also, how do u all keep ur house clean and non smelly? Lol I love my furbaby so much already, but I want to keep everything clean for both him and I. :-)

Thank you everyone!!!!! [emoji]128522[/emoji][emoji]128571[/emoji]

The reason I mention about my husband is because I worry he may disturb him in his tray and he might be clearing his toilet away too quickly and the cat isn't happy with it or feels worried

Hi Sam87

Clean the litter box daily and tell your husband your cat needs privacy... When he's done his business, let him cover it up and once he's left the area, scoop the dodo out so there won't be any smell. I change the litter once a week...
Good luck!

Thank u. Do u have any tips on making him go into the litter to poop again instead of just outside it. I've only had him 5 days and his tray has been completley cleaned, washed and changed litter 3 times. He urinates in the new litter but hasn't done a poop in it and even this morning in previous litter he never used the tray either. I worry he will continue pooping outside the tray.
