Anybody do any flying with liquid medicine?  How do you handle it at the airport - in a baggie like the other liquid stuff? Or can you leave it in your carry-on?

You can carry liquids if they are under 3.4 oz. each, and for medicine it can be a little more. Make sure the bottle has the prescription label on it, and that it's up-to-date. Declare the medicine separately to the security agent(s). Most medicines should be carried on since they should not be in the extreme temperatures of the cargo hold.

Thanks, I do know that, I was just wondering if I should tell her to put it in a baggie like you do the other liquid stuff or just tell them you have it.

And are they likely to open it?  She is freaking out about that.

It says on the web site they might have to open it is why I'm trying to find info from someone who has travelled with liquid medicine.

You can put in the baggie with other stuff, but YES you have to tell the security people you have medicine. Do not leave it in the carry on. I have never, ever seen medicine opened up by airport security, there's no reason for them to do that if everything is in order. BUT if the medicine is not labeled with the traveler's name and prescription, or it's out of date, then there might be a problem.
