My Cats eyes

I let my cat in today for the winter and i have noticed her third eyelid is halfway over both of her eyes...Does anyone know what this could be? She is a year and a half old. I have never noticed this until today. Please Help!!!

Melanie, please take your cat to the vet ASAP. Her problem may not be just with her eyes, but a more serious illness.

The third eyelids showing are signs of illness. Kitty needs to see a vet. Keep us posted!

I took my cat to the vet today and they said she had Horners Syndrome. He said it would clear up on its on but could take up to 6 months. He said there was nothing really to do about it except maybe put so eye drops in her eyes to keep her eyes from being dry. She has not had any other symptoms except the third eye showing so i feel much better. Thanks for your help!

Is the 3rd eyelid that filmy looking lid that covers the eye? It only shows up on my cats when they close their eyes, and I rub their face and gently move their eyes open a little. Is that what youre referring to?

The third eye is in the corner of the cat's eye. It is solid white. You probably can't see it and if you can you should only see very little of it. My cat's is halfway over it's poor little eyes. I know it has to be hard for her to see.

Oh ok. Hmmm.... probably not what Im referring to then. Maybe Im thinking of the 2nd eyelids?

I only see my cats third eyelids when they yawn, and just for a second.
