I would like some suggestions for a wet food rotation, my cat is fussy. So far I have FF liver & chicken, FF chopped Grill (both classic) weruva Peking duck, natural balance catatouille, natural balance ultra.

Gosh, it's hard to make suggestions for a picky cat. You never know what they'll like or not! Some good wet foods are Hound & Gatos, Tiki Cat (expensive) and Triumph (least expensive).

Well, what type of texture does your cat like? The first thing to determine is what texture your cat loves most and stick to that texture. Does she like pâté, shreds, chunks, or pâtés with chunks? The second question is what meat does she like? What does she turn her nose up at? I you can answer those questions, I might be able to make some suggestions.

My pickiest cat will eat Merricks cowboy cookout. Though its not low in carbs.

Cats are all different, just like people. I like spicy food and slather Tabasco over everything. Hubby thinks I must've been born in a volcano by aliens.

I would first try to find out what texture your kitty likes, like @Thehistorian suggests. Then find out if s/he likes a certain protein like chicken, beef, rabbit, etc.

A lot of cats like smelly foods. Get some Friskies, which is super smelly and see if that helps. I'm not suggesting Friskies should be the food, but if you get a positive reaction, maybe you should look into strong smelling foods.

She likes chicken pate or fine bits not big chunks. I am looking for something very tasty in pate or fine bits in anything but fish and beef.

I am personally a fan of Nutro Natural Choice Chunky Chicken Pâté. There are a few chunks but they are nice and small and easy for a kitty to chow down on. Most importantly Enya loves Nutro Natural Choice Chunky and Soft Pâtés. They also have Turkey Chunky Pâté and Turkey Soft Loaf Pâté; they also have a Duck Soft Loaf Pâté. They are her favorites.

My Sophie sounds like your girl except she will no longer tolerate any pates. I have been trying all kinds of foods to get a rotation for her that she will eat and here are the winners (until her majesty changes her mind again
)

Soulistic Good Karma (chicken shreds in the green can found at Petco, made by Weruva)

Soulistic Harvest Sunrise chicken & pumpkin (same as above with pumpkin added)

Weruva Cats in the Kitchen Chicken Frick a Zee (also shreds)

Pride by Instinct Lucky's Lamb and Rockstar's Rabbit

Halo Spot's Choice chicken and turkey

I just ordered a case of Nature's Variety Prairie Homestyle Duck and chicken stew from Amazon. I added it to my subscribe and save and it ended up being $14.02 after my 20% discount for 12 5.5 ounce cans. That comes out to .58 a serving. That's what a can of Fancy Feast costs at my local Wal Mart. Lilith is also very picky but has been good with eating stew type foods so if I am lucky, I can add it to both their rotations.

I also try to avoid fish and beef except on occasion. They do like beef somewhat (they'd rather have beef as steak bits off my plate
) and neither is a big fan of fish

Thanks for the suggestions I have to go to a petco to look at soulistic, I heard about it. Purdy has Peking Ducken by weruva in her rotation. I just bought some rabbit and duck natures variety instinct to try. I also bought some wellness core and merricks duck and thanksgiving. They sell no weruva only tiki cat at my pet store. I buy one can of a different brand/flavor for them to try. Luckily I have a boy cat who will eat anything so if fussy pants does not like it he will eat it. She seems to like some on the cheaper ones best so I mix them together.

Well the queen has decided that Halo Spot's Choice is no longer HER choice. She has now rejected both the chicken and the turkey varieties. She ate them last week.
Thankfully I only bought one of each flavor. Sorry Spot, you're being booted from her majesty's rotation.  Lilith is very picky also but I have found some that she really likes .She is partial to Wellness pouches and the Divine Duos. I may have her try a can of Spot's stew to see if she will eat it so there may be a glimmer of hope for old Spot after all.
They both tried and liked one of the pouches from Natural Balance so we are building a decent rotation for each slowly but surely. Until, of course, they change their minds and it's time to start over again.

I have TWO very picky eaters, and have found that if I just ignore them, or move their dishes to wherever I am, they will usually eat.  For instance, if I am on the computer, if I put the food dishes either on the desk or on the floor next to the desk and wait just a few minutes, they will eat.  The only issue is, I have to really keep an eye out for the THIRD cat to make sure HE doesn't start eating, since he pretty much likes anything

Usually, I put the dish for the piggy cat on his placemat in the kitchen, then take the other two bowls in the bedroom and set them down and I sit down with my book and start to read.  It's become a game now.  I cover up my pickiest one's bowl with a piece of paper, and he'll come in and I lift up the paper and he'll sniff then walk away, then he'll come back and we'll do that a couple of times, then he'll usually try to bury it, THEN he'll dig in and eat it.  He's a goofball.  And he'll usually do this with almost any food I put out, although I don't try to feed him certain food which I know he won't touch.  But he's fond of the Natural Balance Catatoullie, Nutro Natural Choice Chunky Chicken Loaf, Nutro Natural Choice Minced Chicken if mixed with the Chicken Loaf, Natural Planet Chicken, By Nature Organics Chicken, Weruva Paw Lickin Chicken, Soulistic Aromatic Chicken (sometimes
) and occasionally Fancy Feast Chicken and Liver Classics.   My other picky eater has kidney disease, so she's picky because she doesn't feel good and is most likely nauseated.  But with her, I've found that I can usually get her to eat either Nutro Natural Choice Chunky Turkey Loaf or Fancy Feasts IN GRAVY (usually turkey or chicken hearts and livers).  These IN GRAVY's aren't the best as far as carbs go, but for her, they are much lower in phosphorus than the CLASSICS, plus she likes them, so she gets them, because IMHO, it's better for her to eat anything then nothing.  And it's odd with my little kidney girl....she used to only want her food pureed until it was very soupy, but now she likes it anyway it comes out of the can, and even cold
She's still picky in that she won't touch Nutro Chunky Chicken or some other cans, so she definitely knows what she likes and dislikes, but she could care less about texture now.  Odd

I have gotten my picky eaters to eat. The last 2 days. Each one sniffed the food and walked away. I took the plate and asked them to try it, they sniffed again and ate it. I thought oh. They will eat a little and walk away. Nope they at it all. Glad i tried. Usually i dont push the issue.

I just tried chicken soup for cat lovers and fussy pants inhaled it. It does have grain in the form of rice, but good meat protein and is 75c for a 5.5 oz can on amazon, cheaper than fancy feast and no carrageen.

I have wondered about this brand. It doesnt seem very popular. Who makes it?

I believe Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul is owned by Diamond Pet Foods..? I used to feed the dry food, and it wasn't bad, especially for the price. Their formulas do have rice but it can be worth a try if you happen to see it in stores.

Wow 2 for 2. She also liked natures variety instinct rabbit formula. So she has liked the cheapest and the most expensive so far. I can't wait to see if she likes merrick and wellness core! I just bought 1 can of different foods to try. She did finish the cheapest chicken soup for cat lovers soul the fastest however. Knowing her as I do they would have to pass round 2 and 3 before I buy 24 cans from chewy or amazon.

I believe sometimes they sense a change in processing or recipe tweeks
