Ok so psycho and shadow our our first female cats always had male well i noticed blood in my reptiles tanks this past weekend t wich have screeen tops but i assumed it was from psycho and shadow playing because it was always only a couple of drop but i just went out to my one reptiles tank which psycho was laying and i say 2-3 quarter size spots of blood and some dime size drops of blood and i checked psycho over and the blood is coming out of her vaginal area. I am freaking out because she isnt in heat and she hasnt had this happen last times she went into heat so i am also guessing its not normal for cats in heat either. She is 8 mnths old and around 7-9 pounds She is only allowed outside with us in the dog pen so no chance she is pregent Please tell me what i need to do

Generally cats don't bleed when they're in heat. Do you have a vet appointment to have her spayed soon? Some people believe in spaying as early as possible (2lbs is the minimum preferred weight, so some kittens are as young as 8 weeks) where others may still choose to wait until the cat is 6-8 months. If she's actively bleeding, I would take her to the vet as soon as you can.

We just got back from vet The vet believes that she has open pyrometry and as long as she doesnt go downhill between now and monday morning SHe will be getting spayed at the clinic But if she has any issues we are going to bring her to the emergency clinic for a emergency pyrometery spay

Oh no, I'm glad to hear she's being treated and spayed. Pyometra can be very scary and life threatening, so the quicker you acted to have her seen, the better! Here's hoping she is able to have a smooth recovery.

I feel like a nervous wreak because when the appointment started he tought it was a just a uti and wasnt pushing for blood test or anything but we told him to do them just in case. He did give her some fluid under the skin and a antibiotic shot to increase chances she will be fine till monday. Sorry if im a bit jumbled in my typing

I was thinking it could be pyometra, but wasn't sure.  Glad you got her to the vet, but I'm curious why the vet didn't rush her into surgery as it can often be fatal.  I think I'd call the ER vet and find out the cost and their advice.  Let them know you did take her to the vet and what the vet advised.  If it was me, she'd already had the surgery done.

Our vet doesnt do surgery on saturdays since they only open from 8-1  and the only emergency vet near us we had a unpleasant experience with And the vet said since she is acting normal We could wait until monday to do the surgery with them since we trust them wholeheartedly Though if she looks the slightest bit bad or acts funny We are going to take her to the emergency vet

OK so Psycho is home They didnt start surgery on her till around 1pm They apperently had a bunch of emergencies come in. She is currently sitting in a big dog crate because the kitten and dogs were to high energy and she wouldnt stay in the office and we dont want her in a different room out of our site. She is also currently giving me the Im going to get you later look because i put her cone back on which she managed to take off in the car since the vet put it on loose. She is acting like herself though she is very grumpy When i was putting the cone back on her She decided to inform me of her displeasure by biting me very hard. The vet said the infection hadnt spread , The uturus was enlarged to the size of his finger (normal guy hand) and was filled with pus. She has pain pills for 3 days (1 pill a day) starting tomorrow and in about 30 mins we can give her water then 30mins after that we can give her food.

One other thing The vet gave us a capstar flea tablet anyone use these before?

We use CapStar with new kittens/cats. It works great! Kills *adult* fleas. They will start dying within minutes after giving the pill.

It is best to use a topical flea med for a few months after to completely break the flea life cycle.

We use frontline every month but the vet said they found fleas today I rknow we had to reapply saturday but we didnt because we ran to vet and we forgot to pick more up  :/  ill give her that tommorrow. Can i give it to her in a pill pocket? After the capstar do we wait a month to apply her frontline or no?

Little update  She drank about 10 laps of water then she got distracted by her stitchs so i had to put her cone back on and every 10mins or so i have to tell her to stop trying to take off the cone It will be a interesting night

I had trouble keeping the cone on Frida, but I think it was because the cone was uncomfortable not because her wound was bothering her. She has a tiny neck so it came off easily. I put a piece of fleece under it to add comfort and make a snugger fit.
it is a cheep solution so maybe worth a try? Hope she feels better soon.
