I think the Dave's is a pretty good food. The Castor & Pollux has a few too many unnecessary starchy ingredients for my taste though. It is really hard to say what picky cats will eat. Taste seems to be individual. I would recommend getting a few individual cans to try before buying a case.

Yeah , that is true ..  I will keep looking because after doing more research I cannot buy either of those foods locally .   I have plenty of time .. I am not introducing anything new for awhile ..

My picky cats dont like Daves. I just bought The cats meow and even the non picky cats didnt care for it. The turkey they liked but i had to put Forti Flora in it to get everyone to eat it.  Today i mixed a can of daves with a can of Merricks Cowboy cookout. They all cleaned their plates.

I've tried all the Dave's flavors and the only one my cats like is Turkey & Giblets :/. But, yeah, it's very reasonably priced for decent ingredients. I haven't tried Castor and Pollux.

" potato starch, potatoes, peas, carrots, oat fiber, brewers rice flour,"

Too many starch fillers in the Castor & P. They are using the old ingredient splitting tactic; list a few meats first, then spam 6 carb fillers after the meats.

When they break the fillers down, split into 6 of them, it knocks them further down the ingredient list, fooling people into thinking meat is the main ingredient. If you combine all 6 fillers into one ingredient, the main ingredient would easily be carbs...and that does not even include all of the other carbs listed down the list...spinach, cranberries, blueberries, apples, sodium phosphate, dried bananas,...

Mine hate pates also. The closest I can get to either of them eating a pate is Lilith will eat the Wellness Divine Duos in the little cups. they have the pate on the bottom with diced meat on top. Sophie will not eat any pate regardless of who makes it. I bought a whole bunch of different foods to see what they would eat so I can keep a variety in each one's rotation and it has been tough. Sophie is one tough customer. She will do the all over sniff, maybe a lick or 2 then I get the evil eye. The "do you REALLY expect ME to eat THIS?" "Come get me when you find something edible" look. Then she leaves the room in a huff. I have found stuff that she really likes, especially the Soulistic shreds, the Pride by Instinct flaked (some, not all flavors. She inhaled the lamb and ignored the chicken. Crossing my fingers for the rabbit) and the Halo Spot's Choice shredded. I ordered her a case of the Weruva Cats in the Kitchen chicken frick a zee. I hope her majesty will eat it since shreds are currently her favorite. Lily isn't as bad as her sister and has a more diverse rotation. The thing that really, really annoys me is when they don't post on the can what type of food it is: pate, shreds, flakes, etc. I Have 5-6 cans of NVI that they will not touch because it's all pate. It would have been helpful to have it listed on the damned can.
They won't eat anything from NVI. They hated the raw bits, too. My little princesses.

@Kat0121    ,  i know what you mean .. Cats are very annoying sometimes when it comes to food ..  Mine are so picky it  makes want to bang my head against the wall .. I  would love to give them a variety with higher quality foods but they will not eat any thing but FF ..  I said fine , go for it  .. I have wasted too much money already experimenting on cat food ..

So have I. Sophie likes the Halo Spot's Choice shredded so I bought her 2 cans on Friday for her week's rotation. One chicken and one turkey. I go to give her the chicken, open it and it's pate. I was so annoyed. She wouldn't touch it.

The good news is that I got the case of Weruva today and BOTH of them ate it!! It's been a while since they have been willing to eat the same thing.

I got a good deal on it from Amazon- 24 5.5 ounce cans for $39.99. I found an old post here that says that Petco's Soulistic is made by Weruva. I could see that when I opened the can. Soulistic is another one Sophie loves and they look very similar
