I've been feeding our almost 15 week kittens high quality wet food since we got them, Natures Menu pouches and Lily's Kitchen (both UK brands I don't think are available in the US) They're both very high meat content, great nutrients, the vets said how healthy they are and how well they're growing.

But the cost of feeding them that 3 sometimes 4 times a day (happy to feed them whenever they want but they don't seem to want more than 3 times, about 50gs each time) is getting a bit hard on us, it's very expensive. I don't want to change from the high quality wet, so I'm thinking about replacing one of their meals with a high quality dry to save some cost.

They've been having some dry as a topper or snack to get used to it and do like it, I wanted it to be an option to be left if I needed to leave them longer than usual between feeds for some reason, like when I'm back at Uni in October. I'm going with Meowing Heads kitten dry salmon as it's a smaller kibble which they seem prefer. The thing I'm unsure of is what size a portion of dry should be for them, there doesn't seem to be anything on the packet? Can anyone advise me?

All help appreciate :)

Harriet, here's a link that might give you some guidelines:  http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/dry_cat_food/meowing_heads/338704. According to what I read there, for kittens between 12 and 24 weeks old, they should get about 60-70 g of the kibble a day, so if you want to give them something for one of their three meals, I think that would even out to about 20-25 grams for each kitten for that meal. Does that make sense to you? It's the chicken flavor, not the salmon, but I would think to try them out with that amount....if they need more, they'll tell you, I'm sure. Good luck!
