We've had a few short spells of 90 degree weather followed by cool rainy weather.  I too am afraid we are headed for another winter like the last one.

The Canadian weather channel calls it "The Arctic Chill." Our local weatherman said this summer was a result of last winter which started with an ice storm and then it snowed so the ice didn't melt until this spring.

We should be having hot, humid nights where you can't bear to touch.

Wow, 13 degrees!? Must be so much chillier closer to the water.

Yesterday was SO cold in the apartment! We left the window open because the wind was nice and strong so we could dry our laundry in front of it, but my boyfriend had to close the window to come to bed (and he's always complaining it's too hot when I complain it's cold). I might need my giant winter duvet all summer! I actually just got out from taking a steaming hot shower.
It'll be nice and warm when I walk to work in the sun though, but we could go as low as 10 or 12 tonight.

It was insanely humid throughout the night last night; I turned the fan on in the bedroom window for the night and, as soon as BooBoo realized the fan was on, he hit the bed and was stretched-out along the foot of the bed all night long, hogging the fan
. (He also hogs the ceiling fan in the kitchen; when we turn that fan on, Boo jumps up on the kitchen table and stretches out to get every fan breeze.) We were supposed to get t-storms, but they split to the west of us. We heard the thunder and that was it. And we could use some rain right now. A good day-long steady rain is what we need.

Perfect temperature here today. It's 21 feels like 23 (70 feels like 73F). It gets cool overnight, which is perfect to open the window and let the fresh air in. We haven't put an a/c in the bedroom since we moved and haven't needed to except the one night was really hot.

Mine runs away when I turn it on, because scary windy thing!

I haven't opened the windows in a couple of days now, and kitty is not giving up on meowing at me near the window.

Haha, the days have been a pretty cool summer up here lately (around 20C plus some sun), but mornings and nights I'm still wrapped in a giant comforter! I'm hoping this will mean a milder winter rather than one worse than last year!
I hear you!!

I haven't had my air conditioner on "cool" a single time this year.  I've had it running, but only to dehumidify.  I have a fan in my bedroom which did overtime last year. This year I turned it on once and that was to quickly dry my hair (I don't like using a blow dryer).  At night I am still turning on my electric blanket. It has 5 settings; most nights it's only on 1, but sometimes on 2 or even 3!

Yesterday I was sitting outside waiting for my ride and I had to go inside because I was actually cold.  Same thing again today.  I've given up even looking at the temperature. I just wake up ready for it to be a high of  around 20 degrees Celsius and cold at night!  My friends were at their cabin a couple weeks ago and told me that the water was too cold for them to swim.

It was so humid last night that it was just plain nasty. We had some t-storms rumble through and we had to shut the windows, too, which made it even worse. I awakened around 1:30 or so, sweating like crazy and had to open the windows again, only to have Rick shut them around 3:00 when another t-storm came through. Just a nasty night. I mowed yard yesterday in the afternoon and got a bit of a sunburn, even with sunscreen.

However, this morning, the sun is out and the humidity has dropped again. And our highs for the next 4 days are only to be in the mid-70s. We need some hotter days for our corn to ripen out. Corn loves heat.

It has been in the high 90's and low 100's the last 3 days. I don't even want to go outside when it is that hot!

We had a tiny bit of a storm last night, but it rained and it rained a LOT. We had a huge downpour that didn't stop for at least 6 hours. I looked outside around 4 am and the roads almost looked flooded. I didn't look outside again until 7 am so it slowed down somewhere in between there.

We got a big thunderstorm last night. My boyfriend was at an outdoor music festival on an island all weekend where they camp out at night and the shows actually got shut down at 8 or 9pm (usually goes till 11) on the last day due to the weather - the first time they've had to do so in something like 30 years of running that festival. A few years back, people do recall stage tents being struck by lightning and collapsing under rain though. Temperatures at night got to around 5 degrees Celsius out there. Fortunately he JUST bought a winter sleeping bag before leaving. It's currently still raining and 15C back in the city. We'll be lucky to hit 20C (68F) today.

I woke up this morning freezing and my cat, who was NEVER a cuddler, found his way under my comforter. Poor guy's probably freezing too.

Did I just sleepwalk to Australia? I had to get up and get a fleece coat to go back to sleep.
