Rick is going down Sunday to spend Sunday and Monday with the grandchildren. The kids need a baby sitter on Monday and since he had already taken a vacation day from work, he volunteered. I can't take off work next Monday and we're not going to get a pet-sitter for one day, so I'm not going.

My cell rang last night. And it went kind of like this:

GS: Grandma? Hey Grandma!

Me: Hey! Hi!

GS: Dad wants to know if you have any peanut butter in your closet? (whispering loudly to DS...."Did I say that right, Dad?" DS said, "No! You were supposed to ask if she had any peanut butter; you weren't supposed to tell her that I wanted to know!" GS to DS: "Oh! Sorry!") And it's all I can do not to laugh at the two of them.

GS: Grandma? Do you have any peanut butter in your closet right now?

Me: Well, yes, I do. Why?

GS: Dad wants.....I mean, I want you to make some peanut butter cookies so Grandpa can bring them down on Sunday.

Me: Well, I suppose I could make some cookies for your Dad.....I mean, for you.

GS: Grandma? I really want chocolate chip cookies! (And I heard DS say, "GS! Get with the program!"
)

Me: How about I make both?

GS: Yes!! (And I could almost see the fist-pump in the air)

I guess I'll be making cookies this weekend.

Thanks, guys! Our grandson just turned 7 in February and our granddaughter will be 5 in December. They are both sweethearts. Our GD loves to bake with me when she comes up to visit. We usually figure out some kind of cookies to make. She likes to help prepare dinner, too. They are both chocoholics; they take after their grandmother!

Draco, PM me and I'll send you something!

BTW, my "closet" is really my pantry. Before we redid the kitchen, we had a closet next to the fridge and I kept my baking supplies in there. Even though the closet isn't there anymore, that's what they call our pantry now.

Snickerdoodles? No, not this time.
I'll be making those in September when he leaves for Portland.

I talked to DS yesterday; he's hungrier for some old-fashioned sugar cookies, more so than the peanut butter cookies now. And, well, as long as I'm making cookies, I said I'd make some chocolate chips for the grandchildren and whatever he wants.  He finally decided on sugar cookies as he hasn't had any since I made those at Christmas. (That man can't make his mind up....first they talked about peanut butter. Then he reminded me that loves chocolate crinkles and hasn't had a crinkle since the holidays. Then he started talking about sugar cookies. I said I wasn't making a ton of cookies.....pick two. Chocolate chip and sugar.

The butter is softening in the microwave; I got it out of the freezer last night. Just wanted to check the forums a bit before I started making the cookie doughs.

(I don't know if you all remember the lemon cookies and the peanut butter frosted cookies I made for our July 4th picnic. Well, it just so turns out that I still have some of those cookies tucked away in the freezer. I'll give the peanut butter ones to DS, so he gets a PB fix.)
