I'm going insane. My cat will not use his cat box!, I love my cat, he's a beautiful all black maine coon, at least 20 some pounds, he's huge! and he's just a great cat, so loving, so cute... But every summer and he's the only cat to do this outta the 3 I've had and they all had fleas

HE GETS A SINGLE FLEA AND DECIDES AND CAN USE THE BATHROOM ANYWHERE

Just last week he was urinating all over our recliners and chairs

Today was the last straw, as he managed to leave a warm runny oozy processed meal on my 2011 and 2012 taxes

He craps somewhere every day...
His terrible poop is a by product of all the flea and bug killers we use. We spray it around the house, He lies around and licks it off himself.

Long story short tho, He's locked in a cage in the garage with a bowl of food and water and his catbox. I feel bad about it but what can i do.

If i let him roam my house freely he'll just destroy something else before anyone is awake or around to stop it.

It an absolute war removing fleas in our area too, one step outside my home and its forest for miles.
The fleas are always coming in off us or just around from our previous cats

It doesn't help he runs outside any chance he gets. I just don't know what to do. Me and my siblings don't want to get rid of our boo

But i'm also sick and tired of this.

The biggest staple of all this is money, we cant afford to go buy front line every other week, that garbage is 35 - 50 bucks and barely work

We cant take him to a vet, vets don't care anymore they only care about milking you for money. We buy off brand kool-aid for goodness sakes

We look for alot off off brands and home recipes....

I put flea repellent on him, i give him dawn dish soap showers. We have set off bug bombs in every room.

We spray the edges of the house with repellent we even spray around the house with it

Not to sound to cynical but i'm sure this post was a massive waste of time as many of the anticipated responses are most likely things and solutions i've already tried but i diverge I'm anxiously awaiting responses, thanks for the help in advance

A dose of advantage will save time and effort and be a lot less toxic then what your spraying around the house.  I would take him to the vet to rule out a bad reaction or even poisoning.  Bring the product name with you.  You are paying more for all you are doing then a dose of advantage will cost and will alst a few weeks the first time if it is many fleas.  After they are under control should last longer.  Some rescues or low cost clinics will give a dose that is split from the large dog.  Would be a waste for you to do it taht way as chances are by time you finish it will have lost strength but look into spay neuter clinics as they may have it under $10 a dose or even less.  Also MAKE SURE to weigh him as these are done based on weight and it is possible he is just not getting enough medicine.

If your not willing to try that then I would consider surrendering the cat if the cage is a long term thing.  I think you have more then one issue going on as a cat urinating on things is not usually linked to upset stomach unless it is severe.  I would worry it could be a urinary infection or crystals.  Also if he is not fixed that is huge cause.

This is the second year having him, we got him as a kitten. A favor for a friend as her cat unexpectedly had kittens.
He was fixed first year, but this whole flea thing played out the same exact way last year, once fall and winter hit all the fleas naturally started dieing out and all the insecticides helped

Right after he went back to being a perfect cat. The thing is he cant be doing this to us every single summer....

I'll call a few places about advantage, thanks for the suggestion!
