Avocado for cats - ok or toxic?

My 4 month old kitten absolutely loves avocado but some say it's toxic for cats and some say it's ok to give them a little bit. Does anyone know which is correct?

a lot of things are said to not be good for cats, some say tomatoes are not good for cats but some cats just love tomatoes. 

i would say don't give avocados too often, give her some once a week or once every now and then. 

anything in excess is harmful.
