Hi
I have a 5 yr old Tonkinese cat named Coco and we really great bond for each other. I recently took her to the vet and she weighed 10 lbs. Immediately i was concerned. I never really had a cat that weighed over 8 lbs . She eats Blue Bufflao Wilderness which she eats very well then the cat chow. I am happy.. how do i scale back on her food without being afarid i am starving her?

Some cats are just naturally larger. 10lbs could be a healthy, (proportionately) slightly larger female cat. If the vet's not concerned, she's probably fine. I wouldn't try and have her lose weight just because she doesn't fit the size and weight of your previous cats. I've had friends whose female cats were anywhere from 8-15lbs, but my Kismet is probably closer to 5lbs (the runt).

You can get a good general idea by the topline too.

Ummmm...do nothing? 10 pounds is about average, so unless your kitty is small framed, I wouldn't worry. @pinkdagger has provided a good reference chart.

Then you really have nothing to worry about. Vets are very quick to tell you if the cat is overweight believe me.
10 lbs isn't a lot for a kitty of normal size.Don't worry. t
