Hello,

I came home two weeks ago to find a baby adorable green eyed baby Kitten looking at me on my driveway. She was starved and malnutrition, you could see and her spine and all her bones no baby fat anywhere, it is so Horrible and unimaginable. It don't make since she was there alone and no other cats anywhere at all but 2 cats who doesntt have mange that I feed , ( I searched the neighborhoods night after night )  I took her to the vet they said since she was 1 pound they couldn't give her any shots. They said she is 4 weeks old. They wormed her and I brought her home she was eating soft food and hard food (Little ) but each day got better.

One day her hair was coming off her ears and I took her to vet they did a scrape said she has sarcoptic mange , they told me to take her home try to get her to gain more weight. I did the following week she gained almost 1/2 pound and they gave her some Ivermectin and she is doing little better .

My Question is If her immunity gets better when she gains more weight .what are the chances of the mange coming back ? I have three small dogs and one large dog and don't want everyone to get it including me but I cleaned the house washed everything in bleach and separated the kitty ( its sad she misses her new pals)

Ps.. is there any people food that is good for her to build her immunity faster to help get rid of the mange

i really don't know about whether the mange will come back if she has more immunity but i think probably not.

for her immunity, give her raw boneless chicken, this gives an immunity boost.

there is also coconut oil with really good benefits for cats and pets and humans even, you can mix a bit of coconut oil (virgin) if you have some in her food, and cats for some reason like it.

Since sarcoptic mange is actually caused from a bug, I don't really know that having a healthy cat would prevent her from getting it.  The best way to prevent it is to keep her away from it

As far as building up her immune system, I will refer you to this thread:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/218565/immune-system-boosters as it looks like there are varying schools of thought depending on the actual issue.

Good luck with your new kitty!  Seems like now that she's gaining weight, she's on the mend
