I know fish based foods arent good as the main part of a diet, but is this food ok in part of a rotation?  Its grain free canned and a local store has it for $8 for a case of 24 3oz cans, making it .33 cents a can. At this price I considered picking up a case or two, but havent heard much about the food.  It IS short dated, expiring at the end of august, which is why its on clearance.

Wow , that is a heck of a deal .. I just checked on Chewy.com and  they want $31.30 for a case of 24  3oz cans ..

I think it would be fine to feed in a rotation diet ..

Im going to head back out to get some!  I didnt want to buy it without researching a little since its clearance it cant be returned.  They only had one case dated in august, the rest dated this month.  Do you think it would be OK to use shortly after the date on the can?  Its such a good deal Id like to get a few, but cant feed it all before the date.

Don't worry about the date. Canned foods are good indefinitely as long as the can isn't damaged, though flavor and texture start to suffer after a few years. If used within a year of the sell-by date, no changes should be seen.

Swordfish is on the high mercury list for humans. I would keep it to one can a week or so. Good for a treat.
