So we bought my little second cousin some 1 direction pajamas (apparently it is a popular boy band). And the price tag is right where the bar code is, and I wanted them to be able to exchange. I have always removed price tags and was raised that it is tacky to leave it on.. So what are your thoughts? Do you remove price tags or leave them on?

Is it underneath the bar code? A lot of times, tags like that have a serrated edge so you can tear off just the price. You can get a market and scribble it off too, but that doesn't help with the "tacky" look. If you're close enough and don't mind them seeing the price, leave it on. Better they be able to exchange it than be stuck with a bad fit. Knowing how much you spent on it isn't the end of the world.

When I leave tags on so a return is possible, I take a Sharpie marker and cover the price.

I guess I don't care if she sees the price!  I decided to leave it on

What I do is take off the price tags, but save them with the receipt in an envelope. If the clothing doesn't fit or if there's something wrong, then I'll give the tags and receipt to the person. We do that with our grandchildren's clothing; that way our DIL can easily exchange them if necessary. The store doesn't care if the tags are off the clothing, especially if you still kept the tags and have the receipt.
