I do not know where to post this, since it touches on two subjects. Spaying and shots.

https://www.facebook.com/alteredtailsbarnhartclinicmesa/info / http://alteredtails.org/ is doing free cat spaying for the month of July. I have 4 cats, so it will save me a bundle. I am going to get their shots too. Any shots you do not recommend? Mine will be indoor cats only, but JUST in case someone slips out (so far, none come even close to the door, thank heavens!!), what shots are recommended?  How about Micro-chipping. How does it work?

Thank you for any replies and suggestions. We are set to go on July 22nd. How long does it take for them to bounce back? If even a little?  I am debating on Walter, the baby. I wanted him to get to the full grown male size and then have him fixed, but I can not beat free.

How old is Walter?  I think he might be a bit too young yet.

Kittens can be spayed as long as they are over two pounds. No need to wait till your male cat is full grown and before his hormones become strong. This is excellent and thank you for bringing this to the forum. I have a cousin in Phoenix and she is taking advantage of this as well. She helps feral cats and caretakers in her area. :bigthumb:

The vet has 2 places... One is close to me and I think one is mid Phoenix.

They told me 3# AND three monthes. She can double check. I don't think Wally is 3 months. Almost but not yet 3 monthes. We are guessing he was born the week of May 5th. Pretty sure he is 3 pounds.

Walter can be neutered then if he is three pounds !! By the end of July, he will be almost 12 weeks. He will be a big boy if he is already three pounds. :rub:

I just hope he is 3 pounds! He is long and thin but he has a wideish face. He has grown the fastest of the 4.

He has taken a huge growth... huge growth. I will take a photo. He is slim but long (er- a lot longer)

This link has both addresses and phone numbers listed. The shelter where I volunteer uses Altered Tails regularly. They will do kittens at 2 months and 2 pounds, but that may be an exception for shelters and ferals.

Whoever i talked to said 3 months and 3 pounds. Lower age and weight all the better. We just have to find 3 more carriers.
