Hi and welcome to the forum, jt33 !
I think you'll find this page helpful: Obtaining Supplies Cheaply - Tanya's Comprehensive Guide to Feline Chronic Kidney Disease
What's happening with your cat ?
Yes yes yes. Thanks so much for the input. I am looking into the food and the yahoo group. Great info!!!!
I'm going to suggest that, if he's being treated with methimazole and still acting 'ravenous', it may well be that he isn't receiving the needed dosing requirement.
I know you had only asked about supplies, so I don't know how far you might want to either continue this discussion or pursue the issue...and, I certainly don't want to bring you somewhere you don't want to go.
I'll mention a couple of things that came to mind, though.
The A/D is certainly useful....there's a similar Veterinary product by Iams, however, with twice the caloric content....if your Vet doesn't stock it, you might ask for a prescription that you can take to another Vet who carries it. It's this one: http://www.iams.com/dog-food/iams-veterinary-formula-maximum-calorie-canine-and-feline
There is a specialized online community of people whose sole focus is managing hyperthyroidism in their cats - if you did want some 'coaching' around his insatiable appetite and med dosing, I'm sure they'd be happy to help. (After 15 years experience with 3500+ cats, they know 'a thing or two' !) They can be found here: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/feline-hyperT/info
