My cat, while seeming otherwise healthy, has been sneezing. I notice it a few times per hour if I had to guess, she's behaving normally, her nose seems otherwise clear, and her eyes are bright and clear. She was fine when I went out of town on Friday, I got back on Sunday night. At first I thought it was just a couple of random sneezes, but then noticed it being a regular thing. She hasn't been around any other cats and is exclusively indoors. However, we have a puppy that she's been around. Not in really close contact as she dislikes dogs, but they share the same living space and water bowls. He spends quite a bit of time with my boyfriend's parents' dogs, and they recently had what they believe to be kennel cough going through their dogs. They've all been vaccinated, but they have a dog going around the show circuit that likely brought back a new strain. The puppy has seemed unaffected, but I suppose he could have carried it back to the cat.
I didn't even know that cats could get bordetella until this morning when looking up what could be wrong with her. Does it seem like a likely possibility? If so, what should I do? She's fine except for the sneezing, so I don't feel the need to rush her to the vet just yet. Or, could it be something else that requires more immediate attention? I'd like to wait until Monday to see if the symptoms are present, but I can take her in tomorrow if it's necessary.
