If you have had your cat on predisolone for a prolonged period of time, what kinds of impact have you noticed on his or her personaity?  I notice that Obi is - subdued.  I dont know if that is the pred or something else but I kind of want to rule this change in or out as due to pred.  He is eating fine but he is not his cheerful self.  More worry...

My girl Elly was on prednisolone forrrrr.....  2 months?  Plus a week or so?

I guess that's not really long-term, but she was very subdued, like you said.  She hardly ever vocalized or made any effort to follow me around like she used to.  Getting her to play was impossible and only managed to make me feel more upset if anything.

She's been off of pred since beginning/mid June, and she's definitely improved since then.  I can't say for certain if it's because she's off prednisolone or because her IBD has improved a little, but she vocalizes again, follows me around some, and will play certain activities with me with reasonable vigor.  If before she got sick was her at 100%, while on pred during her IBD fiasco she was like 40%, and now I'd give her a solid 75-80%.

I dunno if that answers your question, but that's my experience on the matter anyways  :)

That is very good to know.  Obi seems to alternate between being subdued, and then sometimes he runs around here pretty good.  Its hard to know if it is the pred, or that he is not feeling the best - and I doubt any vet will be able to figure it out,  either.

My guy didn't really seem to change but he is old (19 years) and has a number of issues so he is up and down with or without it. I switched him to Budesonide and didn't really see any changes in him. If the cat is not feeling good then you can expect changes in their behaviour but when they feel good they should be closer to their old selves. It has been a few years since my cat has played with much so I didn't notice any real changes before he got it, when he went off of it, and when he went back on it and then when he switched. He has a list a problems on top of age so he may not be a good example.

Mine became more subdued but he was hit with a litney (sp?) of issues at once (IBD, new kittens, arthritis).
