I have 4 himalayan cats in my household ages 11 (Sushi) 10 (Turnip) 9 (Bacon) and 8 (Tomato), all females . They've been living a healthy life with minor problems occuring rarely. As of this date, i have not seen any signs of serious illness. But when i brought them to my vet 3 months ago for an annual Blood work, all 4 of them revealed low WBC and RBC. Vet said according to tests, there are no signs of infection. Appetite and toilet habits are all normal. Activities are also normal. Weight are maintained and there is no weight loss. :rbheart:Ever since that month, we've been testing them monthly for progress. Seems to be getting lowere of no improvement. Why could this be?? We tested the 11 year old cat Sushi for FIV and FELV and tested negative. Help!!! Right now vet is just recommending me to boost them with Liv 52, Nutri Cal and Vitamin B Complex with Iron. Their appetite is still good. Help me please!! Has anyone experienced this? Would appreciate any help.

Hi

Indoor cats right? What do you feed? What supplements if any do they get? Do they get any people food? Any flea products? Did the vet say if it was a regenerative anemia or non regenerative? What does the vet think? If you look at their gums, what color are they? Where did they originally come from? Any chemicals used to clean the house or the carpets? What cat litter? Any red tiny veins on the belly? Anything toxic in the house such as poisons for pests etc? Did they do the blood work in the hospital or send it out to a lab? Can you post the blood work? Did they do a blood smear to look at the cells? did they have trouble getting the blood samples and were they only able to get a tiny bit?

Hi, they're strictly indoors and fed only Royal Canin Indoor. They recently received Revolution spot on treatment for fleas. Discovere them last month and now they just had their second month dose. They use tidy cats non clumping cat litter. Doctor hasn't said anything anout what kind of anemia. Right now they are taking Nutri Cal vitamins, vitamin b complex with iron, and Liv 52 tablets. Vet said to take them back after 2 months. Other than that, appetite, bowel, activities are all normal.

If you trust your vet then I would do as suggested and recheck in 2 months. I find it really weird though. I wonder if they did the blood work in house if it is a technical error. I would be curious as to how low they are. Keep us updated. Glad they are all doing okay.
