Is Greeat Choice pate cat food from petsmart a better choice than friskies pate in my rotation as my cheap food?  I noticed that petsmart has in on sale currently for .37 cents a can for the 5.5 oz can or .89 cents a can for the big can.  I thought I saw someone say that its grain free?

@mydaddysjag   , I was wondering this also ..

I also rotate between lower to higher quality .for variety .and due to cost ...  I was looking at Great Choice mainly because of the price . Also Great Choice only has Carrageenan as opposed to  Friskies  which has both Carrageenan and Menadione Sodium Bisulfate  .

I have no idea as to the quality of Great Choice though . I don't know  who makes it ..

As far as ingredients go it looks pretty good . I think I am going to get a few cans and try it .. I am going to try Authority as well . Has neither of the above ingredients . It is also at Petsmart ..   .89 cents a can ..

The 37 cents sale at Petsmart has been good for awhile.  I also read the thread about GC being grain-free.  If you read the labels, it sure seems that way for some of the pate choices.  I use FF and Friskies for medication feedings and to mix in with higher premium grain free foods.  My cats will eat Wellness  but are fussier with other premium brands.  That's when I have to mix in some FF and Friskies.

I've only tried a couple of GC cans and so far my cats eat it and not have had any adverse reactions.  In terms of quality, I probably wouldn't want my cats to eat a lot of it as long as I can afford the higher premium foods.  But I'll probably finish the Friskies stock and replace it with GC.

@tdonline   , thank you so much for the advice .. I definitely would not make Great Choice their main diet ..  I plan on going with mostly Authority , Petguard , and fill in the blanks with  Fancy Feast , Sheba & Great Choice ..

I stopped today and got a few cans. They also have the authority 6oz cans on sale for .75 cents each though all I saw had grain. Are any of the authority varieties grain free?

When I first adopted my cats, I fed Authority because that's what they were eating at the adoption center.  That was over 5 years ago and I don't remember any of the pates being grain free.  Don't they all have rice?  From some threads here, I learned Authority was pretty similar to Trader Joe's canned food which has rice.

I think they all have grain .. I am mainly looking for an affordable can food that does not have carrageenan & menadione sodium bisulfate  to add to my rotation . I got 10 6 oz cans of Authority and 2 cans of Great Choice  for $ 8.69 . Pretty good deal ..
