Not yet :( they are reviewing the package. The next board meeting isn't until aug 1st. I am hoping to hear something then! This wait is killing me!

My dad just found out he's got Grand Jury Duty. Perfect timing, really. :stomp: We're still waiting to hear back from the board, and he'll be at Grand Jury during the interview and closing dates. This adds more stress on us, especially me!

We need to contact the board and get this moving already.. this should've been done over a month ago if these people moved and be more proactive! I have 30 days left before my lease ends in my apartment, so we're on a time crunch now. They've had the package for nearly 3 weeks already!

We're going to see if we can crash the board meeting for the interview, they're all going to be there anyway, so why not let us interview on that day? If not, I am hoping it'd be OK for just me to show up for the interview, after all, I am going to be the one living there.

Argh!! I am trying not to break down in this stress. I am tired of waiting and pulling teeth here!!! :mad2:

Is there any way his jury duty can be postponed?  Does he have to show up every day?

The way it worked when I had it in 2008 was that we were split into 5 groups and the night before we all had to call in to see if we had to report the next day.  They usually only called 2 groups per day; which meant we didn't have to show up more than 2-3 times in a week.  The last time I was called I was able to be excused because of the sudden need for and expense of childcare.  Some courthouses have on site childcare so that doesn't work everywhere.  Maybe your Dad can adopt a kid for a couple weeks.

I have no idea if he can postpone or not.. I have no idea how Grand Jury works.. I've gotten out of regular jury duties (thanks to my hearing impairment!), but no clue on Grand Jury. It may be different in each state?
I know he'd have to go in Monday thru Friday, 9-5, for 4 weeks or more.

4 weeks!?!??!!  That is CRAZY.  It may be the same in my state for grand jury; I'm not sure.

Another thought, will the place your at now allow for you to rent another month or so?  Until this gets settled?  I'm sorry you're going through this.

They would let me stay if I need to- for an extra $800 a month! I am sure I will be out by then

My dad found out grand jury is for at least 6 weeks, starting aug 18th so I hope to have everything done by then

:hugs:Oog draco. This is getting beyond fair
But I don't think crashing the board is a good idea. It will give them a bad impression of you
How do you propose doing it in any case.
I hope you hear soon.
:hugs:

Ha I wouldn't really crash it. I thought maybe asking them if we can come. My dad wrote a nice email explaining the situation and I hope they consider moving along faster

Sit down, take a calm, deep breath!  You did all they asked, and you did say that they were meeting today, right?  So call them on Tuesday and make a gentle inquiry as to the outcome of the meeting.

I'm sure you've gotten it.  But the waiting is the worse part!!

they're meeting the first week of august. I thought it was august 1st. Misread that email.

I will have till the second week before following up. I hate waiting!

What's killing me (As well), is that people are asking me if I've moved yet. NOT YET!!! Still waiting!!! Stahp asking me! lol

*Stares at phone* Will you call today? please?

Yesterday, my parents wanted to go couch shopping. they said as a house warming gift, they'd buy me a couch up to 1k. I found a nice one at Bob's, with two swivel chairs that amounts to 1k.

I am trying hard not to shop and look around (I'm not buying anything yet!!), but.. it's so much fun!

I'm on pins and needles for you!

The next time someone asks if you've moved yet; let them know there are still open slots on your volunteer movers list.
