Sorry for the long post but I want to make sure I get all the info down. I have been hand raising 3 abandoned kittens since they were about 2 wks old. They are now 5 wks old and I'm worried because they have had diarrhea for about 2 weeks now. I took them to a vet when I first got them and they were negative for parasites and were pretty healthy. I have started weaning them from 2nd step kmr by adding wet food to their mixture and they are eating out of a bowl. I do know they have tape worms but when I called the vet they said treating them this young would do more harm then good. So my question, should I be concerned about the diarrhea? Could it be the worms or just the change in diet? Other then this they are active and very playful but from everything I have read it says that diarrhea is dangerous... Please help!

How are the kittens now. I don't have experience raising kittens, but somebody will be along shortly to help you

Yes I am too, they are still very energetic and playful. So I'm hoping it is just a reaction to their changes in diet

Do you by any chance can get the preparate Milbomax?  Its essentially british, but its sold in some other countres too.

Its a all round preparate, and can be used for even quite young kittens.

Otherwise, you can probably wait.  If the vet isnt too concerned and they seem healthy save some diarrhea...

They were probably flea-infested at s ome time,  tape worms arent common with kittens - but fleas are an intermediate host for fleas.

Good luck!
