So many new cat for the past couple of weeks has had some blood in his stool. I've brought his stool to the vet and they can't find anything wrong with him. No parasites; they say it can be constipation and I also recently changed the food a month ago.

He doesn't act like he's in pain and he's eating and drinking water. Its not everyday but I notice it here and there with some of his poops. What else can I do to help stop his bleeding? The vet recommended rice; is there anything I can do? Thanks!

If it is constipation, then maybe the food he's getting has too much fibre. Might need to check the food for percentages and change it to something lower.

Another idea would be to go to another vet for a second opinion! I'd be nervous about bloody stools.

Hopefully someone else can add to this :)

What are you feeding him?  If it's dry food, try switching him to canned food.  I'd recommend something grain-free.  It could be that his stool is hard and dry when it passes and that it might be tearing his little bottom when it comes out.
