Sue : Wasn't the Garden of Eden a Heaven on Earth? And it was FULL of animals! Animals don't know sin, that is how they were made.

Animals don't know how to sin , so they are with out sin

Chelle , they may have not a soul , but they have a spirit .

Actually a book that addresses this very issue is available now "There is Eternal Life for Animals" by Niki Behrikis Shanahan. The author has done extensive research into this subject, using the Bible as the main point of reference for back-up. It is an interesting read, and if you have faith, it surely will strengthen that faith and give you a quiet spirit about this issue.

on the soul/spirit issue with animals and we came to the conclusion based on the definitons of "soul" and "spirit" that it is the EXACT opposite. They have a soul according to Webster's dictionary. The first example is: "the immaterial essence, animating principle, or actuating cause of an individual life". If this doesn't fit the description of an animal, I don't know what does!!

The definition of "spirit" is the same as "soul" according to Webster's.

What animals DON'T have and never will, is a "heavenly/Holy Spirit that indwells in them. They cannot have the same TYPE of soul or spirit humans do. I still think our pets will BE in heaven, but again, they won't get there through salvation or works.

Thanks for that, Hissy.

I do believe that all animals go to heaven. I believe they do have souls -- just look into those eyes! I believe that they are sinless and part of God's perfect creation and therefore have a reserved seat. I also believe that we too will go to heaven, that imperfect as we are, sinful beings that we are, we are nonetheless saved by grace and not by works, therefore we too have a reserved seat. Where Hell figures in all of this I don't know. But then I can't know everything, so I'm content to let that be.

It will be very interesting to have a look at that book.

She uses the literal translation of the Bible in both Hebrew and Greek and explores the fact that animals are of great importance to God and there are animals in heaven. ie: (Revelations says He will appear again on a white horse) She talks about how their fate is directly linked to ours, as is their salvation. There were only a few points I would argue against, but that is what made it a good read, it challenges you not only to explore your faith, but to think about what you actually believe in. Overall the book is a solid foundation of faith-based fact and having lost as many cats as I have recently, I found great comfort within the pages.

It's amazing what other people believe. I think that with each religion depending on the culture, we believe in different things but I think we all end up in the same place. Like some believe in Budda for example, I believe in Jesus Christ....I still believe we will all go to heaven...even the pretty furrbabies!

I believe 100% that animals all have souls, and that they do go to "heaven" or someplace nice along with us. I also think that you could only meet people or animals that you want to. There are some people that Id rather leave as it is.
Im not fond of any religion, but I suppose I follow basic Christian beliefs.

Peace,
Brandon
