My cat has been on Prednisolone since last Thursday because the Vet at my the low cost vet mobile I took him too overlooked my concerns about his infrequent bowel movements and perceived his frequent urination as (fus). I am willing to accept that maybe he's urinating just as much as ever but since he can't make a poop without eating pumpkin. If my cat was misdiagnosed could the steroid be doing more harm than good?

Hi Shawna, I'm no expert far from it so I can't give you a diagnosis. There is always that possibility however. Some cats have no reaction while some do react negatively.  Monitor your cat and if need be take your cat to a proper vet if need be.

You need to start your own thread.   Nobody will find your post if it is buried in someone elses thread.   But to quickly answer your question YES the steroid can do more harm than good if your cat was misdiagnosed.   And even if the diagnosis was proper the steroid creates side effects that can be devastating if not properly monitored.    If you are seeing some new symptoms or other irregularities you need to get advice from someone that is expert with prednisolone.

Thank you for replying I am new to the site and don't know how to start my own thread. I found the tutorial difficult to navigate through maybe because I am using a tablet. I have an appointment at 12:30pm today, with an animal hospital that has agreed to help me apply for funding through a vet charity to help with some of the treatment cost upon assessing him
