Hello again,

You guys were so helpful last time, I figured I'd see if any of you have had this experience before.

My cat was relaxing and all of the sudden randomly jumped up and started making an open chewing motion with her mouth like a hair or something was stuck in her throat but she started salivating a lot and I don't think she was breathing. She tries to move to go somewhere but doesn't know what to do. This isn't the first time its happened, but its the first time its been that bad. It lasted about 30 seconds before she was randomly ok again. It hasn't happened in months, so that's why I haven't taken her to the vet. She doesn't make a choking noise or any noise at all. I cant seem to find answers anywhere and it concerns me that maybe my vet won't even know what the hell is going on. It used to happen when she would be in a deep sleep, but this time she was just kind of half asleep.

I have no idea but I worry about a possible obstruction that is slowly growing in size and causing intermittent discomfort. Regardless She needs a vet who can look info her mouth and see what is going on. Even if the symptom is only occasional the cause may be visible.

yes, my cat did that once several months ago. She is a senior cat and we mentioned it to the vet a while back and the vet said to bring her in if it happened again. It hasn't happened since and she has been to the vet for several other reasons after that. I remember googling it but forgot what I read.

I forgot to add that if my cat did that again I would rush to the vet ASAP if at all possible. I hope everything turns out well with your kitty.
