So, I was wondering, how did every ones cat's do last night, if you had fireworks near by?
We have a stadium a few doors down, so there are usually some loud, pretty ones going off.
(it's not where they are held, & nothing going on there, so don't know why they do it, extras maybe?
but is nice to see them from my parking lot w/o having to go anywhere.
)
When that happens, Angel makes a dash for under the bed!
SO, Last night, I "prepped" some treats w/ Rescue Remedy ahead of time, so the smell would go away, &
he would eat them when the time came.
As well as the feliway that is always plugged in, I sprayed some of the spray under the bed about a 1/2 hr. before
things usually start. I also gave the living room a few extra spritz.
I think I gave him the treats around 9:00.
To my surprise, there was no big show. That's a first in the 15+ yrs. I've lived here!
However, there were some across the street, so no big bangs, just some "poofs" here & there for a couple of hrs.
It worked! At first he did go under the bed, but only for about 30 mins. or so. Then, he stayed out here in the living room w/ me.
Every time one would go off his ears would go back & he would look alert, like "what was THAT?!" but he stayed.
I told him what a brave boy he was, & that I was proud of him.
So, my "prep work" seemed to help!
So, how did your kitties do?
