I switched our cats to can food .. They are eating Friskies ..They still get  1/8 cup of kibble per day ..

I did a cat food calculator and it says to feed 6 ounces per cat per day ..  I am getting conflicting answers on the amount..

My cats are 16 pounds & 11 pounds ..

I think one whole can of Friskies per cat per day is a good starting point. I think most people feed about that amount. Of course every cat is different. Some will require more or less. You'll want to get an idea of their weight, then weigh again in a couple weeks to see if they're gaining, losing, or maintaining.

Most overweight cats will lose a bit of weight once they transition to wet food.

I agree, about one can a day each sounds right.  Your smaller cat may eat less.

Angel is 15 lbs & gets a can a day, 1/2 for breakfast, & 1/2 for din din.

(w/ water from the PUR filter added because of past issues w/ cystitis...to stay on the safe side)

He has maintained his weight for almost 2 yrs.

(He was a lb smaller, but a medicine he was on for a little while increased his appetite, & he gained a lb, but has now at least maintained the same weight

for around 2 yrs now.)

Thank you very much . That is so helpful .. I have been feeding each cat 2 1/2 oz  Friskies wet 3 times per day & 1/8 cup of kibble ..

They seem very  satisfied with that ..  I will definitely weigh them again in a couple weeks.
