meet Teia and Mella-Rue and RIP Dixie

Teia and Mella-Rue are young sisters. Dixie was a rather large cat when she passed at the age 16. I had her since i was 5 so she meant the world me. I love to say my cats are unique and i love them as if they were my own. And my daughter loves them too. They are surprisingly patient with my 1 1/2 year old. the markings on Teia are so cool. A vet once told me Dixie was rare due to her being an orange Female tabbie. Apparently most Orange cats are male. Always thought that was cool.

As sad as it was to lose her i believe she lived a very long life. A week earlier i was discussing some options due to her obvious pain. Im kinda thankful she made the decision for me.

I can empathise with that... after discussion with my vet we had widget put down, and that was a horrible thing  

It really sucked. I convinced my dad to let me bring her home knowing she didn't have too long. She started losing a lot of weight and started hiding more. I could see it was nearly time. And one day my husband asked when i saw her last and i said last night. We looked everywhere. Found her buried in some clothes in the dryer. I broke down. She was my best friend and the one consistentsy in my army brat life: (

But in my family putting an animal down is very hard. But in both situations of our 17 year old Chihuahua and 16 year old Dixie they both pass before we can act.

want to add one more to my lovely cat family. We got a third introducing Jack
