Eating the cat food? That's hilarious! The cat is going to have issues with this thing!

I'll really get worried if it starts using the litter box...

I caught it eating a plate of dry cat food tonight!  I was showing MIL how it works, and I forgot to take up the cat food plates. DH yelled, "Roomba is eating the cats' food!". It was so funny! The poor thing was sitting right on top of the plate, sucking up the kibble.
HAHAHAHA!  That's hysterical!

One for each main floor sounds great!

Woohoo! Just got a Roomba at Costco, can't wait to get home and try it out. (But first, gotta stop at my favorite frozen yogurt shop) :-)

Haha, that would be fun.  I hope that's what happens.  Ozzy will most likely be scared of it.   Poor guy--he's been living here with us for four years and is still afraid of the sound of the doorbell, so I don't know how he'll react to the Roomba.  The other two will probably try to play with it.  We shall see.....it's charging now so I haven't been able to try it out yet.

Congratulations! Please let us know how you like it! My 2nd one arrived 3 days ago, but I haven't had time to set it up. I was just going to do so, when a transformer blew, and we lost power!

Well, it was noisier than I expected.  But I've programmed it to run during the day while we're working so that won't be a problem.  The cats weren't as bothered by it as I thought they might be--very curious at first, but then just watched it do its thing, no problem. I'm not expecting any of them to jump on it for a ride any time soon, though!
It got from the tile floor to the carpet with no problem.

The BEST news is that I couldn't believe how much fur and dirt it picked up in its first sweep.  It's worth the noise to have all that cat hair picked up.

So far, my vote is:

I'm sold on the Roomba.  I love this thing--it's amazing how much cat hair, dust, etc. it picks up.  The only 'con' in my book is the noise.  It makes quite a bit of racket on tile floors.  It's not nearly as bad when it's on carpet.

The cats don't seem bothered by it at all.  Here's Ozzy watching it work:

I'm glad you like yours!  After nearly 2 months, I'm still delighted with the 2 I have.

Have you picked your up while it's charged? Mine beeps and a message appears on the screen, "Please put me down on the floor." I imagine it as a fussy toddler that doesn't like being picked up!

Sarah Jane, as of late, has decided the downstairs one is a toy, and stalks it. The other day, she was on the ottoman, peering down at it, with her back arched and her tail puffed. She kept running to one end of the ottoman to the other as it made its path around it. Marge just lays in the hallway, up against the wall, watching it pass her--until it bumps her!

I have to return my one Neato. I keep getting error messages about the wheels needing debris cleaned--but no debris are there. The right wheel now doesn't move. Tried their so-called "online help chat", and waited 3 minutes for a reply. My last message: "Thanks for wasting my time. I'm returning your product, and buying another brand.".

I would NOT recommend Neato robotics vaccuums, as much as I liked the 2 I have. This one is the slightly older one, and now I'm worried that the newer one, which is now the "workhorse" one downstairs, will go bad soon. When they worked, they were wonderful. They do have a 1-year warranty, though, and I've only had it since early July.

I didn't pick mine up, but I was quite startled to hear it talking to me--I didn't know they 'talked'!  It was on an uneven surface and said "Move Roomba to an even surface" or something. Really startled me--I came out of the kitchen, looking around, wondering who was talking!  Haha.

I got home the other day to find that Roomba wasn't in its dock.  It had meandered down the hallway and into a room we usually leave shut.  I guess it ran out of battery power before it could get back to its base. I said "There you are, Roombie!" and took it back to its base--hubby remarked it's like having another new pet we have to keep track of.

Congratulations! That's something I keep looking at.
Have you seen this video? I think of it every time somebody mentions robot vacuums.
Bumping into walls...twirling in circles... chasing a duck while wearing a strange fish costume...nothing seems to bother that cat!

I'd love to see one of the kitties here riding a robotic vacuum.  I know this is off the subject but notice how scared of the 'vicious' bully type dog the kitty and duck are.
