Okay I have a year old female cat. She got out about a week ago and was gone for about 5 days. When she left she was in heat. There is a TON of stray male cats around our neighborhood. Now that she is back I am scared she is pregnant. She has been acting very weird. She won't stop meowing unless I am holding her, she won't let anyone touch her stomach, she is eating a ton, she is sleeping a lot, she has been very clingy to me, doesn't like anyone to touch her except for me, etc. I do not have the money right now to take her to the vet to see if she is pregnant. Is there anyway to tell at home if she is pregnant? If so is there anything I can do to help her?? Thank you!! :)

Now, the answer depends on if you are eager to have a litter of small kittens.  (the total cost will be higher than spaying!).    If yes, you hope she isnt sick, and wait and see.  We have lotsa of links what to do when your cat is pregnant and shall deliver.   Every What IF  is covered!

But if you arent anxious to get yourself a litter full of kittens, you go to a vet and do the spaying NOW before the pregnancy is  clearly visible.  As most people find spay abortion unpleasant, its best do to it NOW.

We have some links how to find cheap spaying vet clinics.  You can surely search yourself you too.  It doesnt need to cost a fortune.  50 dollars perhaps with a cheap vet.   You can surely borrow the money if need be.

Please return with further reports and question, so we shall give more answers.

Good luck!   @mswhiskersmommy

ps.  If it is a litter of small kittens you want to experience, you can surely cooperate with some shelter nearby.   The same pleasure, less responsibility and less costs.    AND  you are doing a praiseworthy deed at the same time...

If she was in heat when she left and not when she comes back, then yes, she is most likely pregnant. Pregnant cats usually become a lot more clingy and affectionate. Her stomach will be more sensitive and she will want more attention. If it has been a while, you can see her belly start to grow larger and you might be able to feel the kittens. Her nipples will turn pink. I am going to say that I am 99.9% sure that she is pregnant. ( When my cat got pregnant, she acted a lot like this)
