This is a kind of question and a kind of review for my cats dandruff problem and Wellness canned food.
I notice a couple of months ago that Mitu started having dandruff on his back. I read all about it, I asked the nice people of this site and I started giving him fish oil.
Now as abit of his story, my cat eats one canned of wet food a day ( half morning, half night) and abit of dry in between. I tried to change his wet food often because he likes that but he felt in LOVE with the WELLNESS SIGNATURE SELECTS. He would not eat anything besides that so thats what I kept buying him for months.
Now I notice that after a month or so hes dandruff was getting worse even with me giving him fish oil. I called the vet, they gave me their fish oil saying is stronger and better, I bought it. But another idea came to me, how about start changing his wet food? And thats exactly what I started doing about a month ago, I started giving him HALO, AVODERM, MERRICKS and Wellness only once a week. Guess what? Since I did that his dandruff is already gone and his coat is so much better.
As a side note, about 2 years ago I tried giving him Wellness dry food. It was ok the first 2 days but then he started throwing up as soon as he eat it. I had to change it imediatly ( I have him on Instinct now) and the problem stoped. I will keep giving him once a week wellness food because he loves it so much, at least for now, but from my experiance with this brand Ill say its not good or worth buying it.
Now to my questions, can a "premium" canned cat food be bad? Would Wellness have something in it that my cat doesn't like or can it be that their premium food is nothing but low food with a big cost ( 2.19$ per can)?
Did anyone had this problem before?
Thank you for looking at my questions and also Im sorry for my bad english, im still learning it.
