My 2 yr old male ragdoll/tabby crossbreed came in from outside and I noticed that he was licking himself I didn't think much of it as he is a cat but then he kept lickig for the next 10mins so I had  a look and there was this white, custard like substance on his neck. I gave him a bath, because it was not coming off and when I was drying him I noticed it was still there so i washed him again and it disappeared. After a few minutes i saw it oozing out of is neck. I know its not blood because cats blood is red and i have seen his blood before, but i would really like to know what it is. I am just going to leave him till the morning because he seems fine, but i would appreciate it if you could let me know what you think. ASAP.

Thnx

I have no idea what it is, possibly infected pus.  Is there swelling?  Can you take a photo?  I would recommend a vet visit especially if this continues.  Maybe others will know more.

I too think its pus.  And if so, its not happened now, but older.   He would need be seen by a vet for cleansing of this wound, get antibiotics.

Anyway, a vet errand yes.

Good luck!
