Uriah

Hello all. I am not new to this site, but I did get a new kitty. Her name is Uriah. I got her from the shelter about 3 weeks ago to keep Kimbo company. She's approximately 8 months old and eats like she may never eat again.... Anyhoozle here she is!

She has beautiful eyes. Have your cats meet each other yet?

They have! And it has been interesting to say the least. They are still getting used to one another they still haven't groomed each other yet. They're still trying to figure each other out. But they will play with each other, eat together, and lay in the same vicinity but will not cuddle.... Uriah has tried to nurse on me a couple of times and I think she tries to do it to Kimbo and Kimbo doesn't like her stomach area touched, so they have gotten into it a couple of times. I wonder why she's still trying to nurse at 8 months..... I guess I'm in the right place to figure out. Lol

She's adorable, congratulations on adopting her! l love her white feet!!

Hi @ms waise   Your Uriah looks awesome.  Very fierce looking in the first photo, but I am sure that resident cat Kimbo will show her the ropes.  You are in the right place for cat information on TCS....so I am looking forward to your other threads.  cheers.

Yes ma'am! Kimbo is not impressed at all! But she just let Uri groom her tail for about 30 seconds and then slapped her as if to say that's enough new girl! Rotfl... I have an active imagination. I think they will love each other once the new car smell rubs off.

You know, if you make me laugh, then I cannot see the page on the screen.    Is that "new car" smell like a "new cat smell"...because then it may take a few months to rub off. 

(Make sure to post those threads, because any suggestions may make my life easier in the future, when I get another cat, too....thanks.)

It's been a while so let me just remind you that I do drink the tears of your laughter. Bwahahahaha! And yes, the new car smell! I think once the shock of another being like herself wears off she will be alright. Kimbo has only ever been around a dog so when she saw another kitty she was shocked like what kind of dark magic is this?! Lol it's weird. They have both never been afraid of my mom's dog and yet when it comes to each other it's like an alternate reality! The animal world is a strange world.....

  Welcome to Uriah, and lovely to see you posting with us again.  She looks very cute and full of catitude.

I always wanted a black kitty with white paws as watching them play is hilarious, never managed to have one tho' so love looking at pictures and vidoes of other people's critters.  Loving that 'look how big I am with my legs n paws spread out' pose she has, Kimbo's going to have her work cut out with this one  (but I'm sure she'll hold her own).     I read somewhere that cats often prefer to share their territory with dogs as another species is less threatening than another being they identify with.  Of course as both your girls probably think they are the same type of being as you this could be a bit of a challenge for you too.   LoL

Has dark magic been deployed to take possession of the cat tower or other special places yet or has tail grooming diverted some of their attention?

With the suckling behaviour I'm guessing Uriah is in need of a little reassurance and possibly got seperated from her mom early.  She might like a little lovie cuddly toy or small fleecy blanket to have as her own; sometimes that helps.
