I have a 6 year old former feral that goes outside. She vomits a lot at night and after eating. She will not let me brush her I give her hairball relief twice a day. She always eats grass. I am taking her and a stool sample to vet next week. She sleeps all day in garage. She does not like my male cat who is also feral. He is 4. I have had both for 4 years. Any thoughts?

Vomiting does not always mean hairballs and since the vomiting is so often then I agree that the cat needs to be seen by your vet asap. Vomiting that often is not a good sign and could be any number of issues; from a food allergy - hairball blockage - IBD - or even cancer, really the list of guesses goes on. But the sleeping all the time along with the vomiting and grass eating, to me, sounds like she has tummy issues and nausea. I hope it turns out to be nothing serious though. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

It could very well be a food allergy.  I had a cat who would throw up whenever she was fed anything with fish in it.  What are you feeding her?

I feed her natural balance wet and dry and fancy feast classics and weruva Peking duck
The natural balance has a small amount of fish in it and it is her favorite, the others flavors do not

My cat Peanut does the same when he's stressed. Except the grass because we don't let him outside. It's good you have a vet appointment. Let us know how it goes. :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

My cat vomited all down the drapes tonight she usually does throw up by windows that is why I wondered if it was stress

Any changes going on? Construction sets off my cat. New animals can if they're not friendly and they come around a lot. Fireworks used to but he's over that now.

When do you see the vet?

She seems perky today sat outside in shade for 4 hours started her back up on whole tab of vets best hairball relief digestive aid, had cut back to 1/2 not working as well. She did not sleep all day for a change. I also pulled out the long grass she was eating. She goes to vet Thursday. She is OCD in the grooming dept., that has something to do with it. I have suspected cats at night walking around perimeter. She stays in at night. They probably stress her out. I was also letting my male in the garage to visit her.

Stress would not cause consistent vomiting as you describe. I suspect there is much more to her vomiting.

Good luck at the vet check. Keep us posted.
