I notice you have a few threads asking about diet and specific foods - in the future, you can keep one thread open and request and post replies in that thread since they all revolve around general nutrition. That way you can find all your answers in one place!

The consensus in this community, and a growing knowledge base online and with cat owners as a whole is that wet food is better. Some people have very drastic views on dry food, and it has been attributed with things like chronic dehydration, kidney problems, urinary problems, and obesity. "Okay" is a relative term. I think some dry food in moderation isn't the end of the world. My younger cat receives a few pieces as a treat, but the bulk of her diet is wet.

If you can follow the suggestions offered in your other thread to entice your cat to eat wet food, some wet food is better than none at all. Heck, cheap and junky wet food is better than none at all if they'll eat that.

For more information, check out CatInfo: http://www.catinfo.org/

The author/vet who runs the site lists all the common arguments for dry food and how they don't make much sense in terms of caring for cats like "my cat is fine on dry food" or "my cat drinks plenty of water". It's a great read and stresses the importance of providing a wet high protein, low carb diet to cats.
